Notice to Parents and Students

1. Please be informed that school will remain closed tomorrow (Sept 30, 2025) in observance of Reconciliation Day.

2. Students are kindly reminded to complete the decoration of the History section in their spiral notebooks as part of their ongoing work.

3.In addition, we will be focusing more thoroughly on FSA practice from Wednesday onwards, as the main FSA dates are approaching. The official dates will be shared soon.

A) ELA Homework

Students are asked to complete the following exercises in their notebooks (Voyages book):

  • Page 8: Exercise 1

  • Page 9: Exercises 2 and 3

  • Page 10: Exercise 1

  • Page 11: Exercise 2

  • Page 12: Exercise 1

  • Page 13: Exercise 2

Due Date: Monday, September 29, 2025

Important: Please remind your child to bring both their notebook and Voyages book (ELA) to school every day. These materials are needed for class and should not be left at home.

B) Spelling Test Reminder

spelling test will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025. Please help your child review the following words at home:

  • Poetry

  • Prose

  • Fable

  • Myth

  • Legend

  • Dialogue

  • Character

  • Plot

  • Theme

  • Genre

C) Reconciliation Day Assembly

On Friday, we will hold a special assembly to commemorate Reconciliation Day.

  • Students are kindly requested to bring a donation of a loonie or toonie to support this important cause.

  • Students are also encouraged to wear an orange t-shirt. If they do not have one, they may wear red or yellow instead.

Class Reminders and Updates

Dear Parents, 

Please take note of the following updates for the coming week:

1) Reconciliation Day - Friday, 26th September 2025
  • Students should arrive at school in their P.E. uniforms.
  • After P.E., they will need to change into their regular school uniform, but with one change: they should wear an orange t-shirt for the special assembly.
  • If an orange t-shirt is not available, students may wear red or yellow, but orange is preferred.
2) History Group Presentation - Wednesday, 24th September 2025
  • Students will be presenting their group projects during History class.
3) Science Project Presentation - Thursday, 25th September 2025
  • Students will present the projects they have been preparing in class.
4) Reminder about Uniforms on P.E. Days
  • Students are expected to carry their school uniforms on days when they have P.E.
  • I have noticed some students arriving without their school uniforms, and I kindly ask for your cooperation to ensure that all students are prepared to change after P.E.

Reminders for Tomorrow

Dear Parents,

Just a few friendly reminders for tomorrow (Friday):

1. Early Dismissal - Students will be heading home at 12:00 pm.

2. Terry Fox Run - Please have your child come dressed in their P.E. strip. They do not need to bring their school uniform.

3. Donations - We’ll be collecting contributions for the Terry Fox Cancer Foundation. A loonie, toonie, or any amount you wish to give would be greatly appreciated.
Please send the donation along with your child tomorrow.

4. ELA Test - Students will also have a short test on Types of Sentences tomorrow.

Homework and Reminders for This Week

1. ELA: Students are working on the Sentences activity. Please remind them to cut out the sentence sheet and paste the sentences under the correct headings in their spiral notebooks. Due tomorrow, Sept 17, 2025.

2. Handwriting: Pages 2, 4, and 5 in the 'Writing Our Catholic Faith' textbook should be completed. Due tonight.

3. Math: Some students still need to finish their multiplication tables. They can complete this using the multiplication table chart. Due on Thursday, Sept 18, 2025.

Math Test: Thursday, September 18, 2025 – on Multiplication Tables 1 to 5.

ELA Test: Friday, September 19, 2025 – on Types of Sentences.

Note to Parents: 
I want you to know that I am currently focusing on strengthening the fundamentals. Students are practicing how to write neatly and in the proper format in their notebooks. These essentials are important, and I am impressed to see how hard they are trying to follow instructions. Homework will be introduced gradually, ensuring students build good habits step by step.

Class Updates

 Dear Parents,


1. The students have created their inner and outer portraits, and the results are absolutely wonderful. They thoughtfully expressed who they are through this work, and it was a joy to see their creativity shine.


2. A gentle reminder: Students are requested to come in their P.E. uniforms on Mondays and Fridays. They should also carry their regular school uniforms to change into afterwards. I have noticed that some students are still coming in school uniforms on these days -your cooperation in ensuring they follow the schedule will be appreciated.

3. On Friday, 19th September 2025, the students will have an assessment on the topic “Types of Sentences”, which we are currently covering in class.

4. Kindly purchase one plastic folder/clear bag/zipper pouch for your child. This will help them carry circulars and important forms home in an organized manner.

Class Updates

Dear Parents,

Here are a few gentle reminders and updates for tomorrow and the coming days:

A) ELA Homework
Students have brought home their VOYAGES textbook and class notebook. They are asked to complete:

  • Page 5, Exercise 3

  • Page 6, Exercise 1

  • Page 7, Exercise 2

- This work is due by Sunday, September 14, 2025.

B) Notebooks & Textbooks
Please remind your child to bring their class notebooks to school tomorrow. If the work is completed, the VOYAGES book may be returned right away. If not, they may hold on to the textbook until Monday.

C) Physical Education
We have our P.E. class tomorrow! Students should come dressed in their full P.E. uniform and also bring their school uniform along with them.

D) Comfort Kits
A kind reminder that comfort kits are due tomorrow.

E) Adoration & Benediction
Our class will be attending Adoration and Benediction at the church tomorrow from 1:45 pm to 2:15 pm.

Classroom Updates

 

Dear Parents,

Here are a few important reminders and updates for this week:

  1. School Supplies Payment
    Please ensure that the school supplies cheque has been deposited at the office. If not, we kindly ask that payment be made as soon as possible.

  2. Comfort Kit Forms
    If your child has not yet returned the Comfort Kit form along with the items in the zip-lock bag, please submit them by Friday, September 12, 2025.

  3. Forms Sent Home
    Two forms were sent home with students yesterday:
         - The monthly pizza order form
         - The fundraiser form
    Kindly review these and return them as needed.

  4. DIBELS Reading Assessment
    On Thursday, September 11, 2025, we will be conducting the DIBELS reading assessment with every student. Each child will read a short passage for one minute, and I will be marking their reading fluency. Please ensure your child is present on that day.

  5. Inner/Outer Self-Portrait Project
    The students recently completed their Inner/Outer Self Portrait sketches, and I am so proud of the creativity they showed in expressing who they are! Their work will soon be displayed on our class bulletin board, and I will also be sharing photographs with you shortly.

Communication for Parents

Dear Parents,


Please take note of the following:


1. Your child has received a comfort kit checklist inside a zip-lock bag. Kindly review the checklist, place the required items in the bag, and return it to school by Tuesday, September 9, 2025.


2. If your child has shown interest in joining the Cross Country Program, a form has been sent home with them. Please complete the form and return it by Monday, September 8, 2025.
