1. For the hip hop performance on Friday, the costume is as follows:

• PE bottoms (shorts)

• A sports T-shirt (preferably Basketball T Shirt)

• Regular school black runners

   Please practice this song at home and be ready by next week. (for Christmas concert)
   
   

2. Read a storybook every day for 30 minutes.
   Keep a small notebook. For the next three days, write five new words you find each day and their meanings. You will have 15 words in total by the end.
   
   

3. Bring a measuring tape to class next week.

   - Hip Hop mini performance (11:15 am)
   - On Fri, Nov. 28, we invite you to come to SCC for a mini-performance at 11:15 am to showcase each class' dance. A video will be available for those unable to come.

Grade 4 Reminders!

1. Recite the Novena to St. Cecilia with your family for 9 days, as her feast day is on 22 November. (link attached below)

Since St. Cecilia is the patron saint of music, and our students are very involved in music this year, it is important for them to reflect on her life and example. Praying the novena together is a simple way to support what we are learning in class while encouraging family prayer time.

2. Students have received their report cards. Parents are requested to go through them and return the folder next week by Wednesday, Nov 19, 2025.

3. Thurs, Nov. 20

• Dress Down Day: Dress to Impress 

On Thurs, Nov. 20th, it's Dress To Impress Day! In other words, dress as if you were visiting Christ the King. This is in keeping with the parish community's "Christ the King Challenge" -- is Jesus the center of my life? Please bring a loonie or toonie or more as a donation. The funds will be directed to the Christ the King Seminary.

4. Hip Hop is taking place this year from Nov. 24-27. Students can come in their gym uniform on those days. On Fri, Nov. 28, we invite you to come to SCC for a mini-performance at 11:15 am to showcase each class' dance. A video will be available for those unable to come

5.  Save-the-Date: Christmas Concert

Save-the-date: Mon, Dec. 15 with a 1:15 pm matinee show and a 7:00 pm evening show. A kind reminder that students are expected to be at both showings. 

Grade 4 Update for tomorrow

1. Assembly tomorrow at 9:30 AM in the church.

2. Students are expected to come properly dressed for the assembly.

• Hair neatly done

• Uniform tidy

• Wear your cardigan for sure

3. No P.E. tomorrow.

4. Please bring a loonie or toonie tomorrow for the Remembrance Day poppies.

Grade 4 Updates

•  Our Remembrance Day Assembly will take place on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in the church. Parents are warmly invited to attend.
• Remembrance Day Assembly: All students will be receiving a poppy on the day of the Assembly. Please ensure that your child brings a loonie, toonie or more on or before Fri, Nov. 14 to donate to the Vancouver Poppy Fund.
• Students should now have completed their part for the upcoming assembly.
• Please be thorough with the song “In Flanders Fields” in preparation for the event.
• Please encourage your child to read for at least 30 minutes each day.
• A reminder to return the Math workbook and sketchbook (if not yet submitted) by Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
• School reopens on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
